work the lines

I couldn't help but notice this alley way on my walk to work today.  Yes it's a bit dirty, but the lines of the sidewalk and buildings immediately draw my eye to the blue sky in back.  While not overly exciting, this picture still holds my attention.  Using lines when framing a shot is one of the basic elements of composition ( pattern, texture, symmetry and depth of field are some others).  I'm on the look out for some eye catching lines this weekend.
