sunset surprise

On a whim we took the kids to Larz Anderson after dinner tonite.  Who knew it was the best place ever to watch the sunset?  Highly recommend.  And although I've read it time and time again, I now know first hand that the hour before sunset is the BEST light ever.  Now if I can only convince families that they should come out at around 7:45pm for their shoot!

I couldn't resist a panorama

stitch it up

We had a mini field trip last night in class.  We walked across the street to take photos and then learned the proper way to stitch them together in Photoshop.  My teacher calls himself a panorama-aholic and I can see why.  Putting the finished image here so doesn't do it justice because it's so small.  It's also not the most exciting vista.

This lesson did make me want to go back and redo a failed attempt at a panorama of Castle Island a couple of weeks ago.   Very difficult to show here, but it's pretty cool full sized.  I have a feeling I'm going to be trying this a lot in the future.  Who needs a wide angle lens?! :)
