black and white

I typically like to shoot in color, especially with kids.
But I'm trying my hand at some high contrast black and whites today, since apparently this style of portrait is all the rage right now. There are about a zillion different ways to do it in Photoshop - I just tried out one method this morning.

I think I have some more experimenting to do.

gloomy Boston

Yesterday was a gloomy day. I visited the Cranary Burial Ground, which was established in 1660.  I have walked past this cemetary on Beacon street a thousand times and never set foot inside.  Apparently, this is where the victims of the Boston Massacre (1770) are buried, as well as Paul Revere and the parents of Benjamin Franklin.
