11/1/11: First day of Boston Public School! Nothing like changing schools mid year right? Welcome to the BPS Lottery system... Good thing little kids are pretty much oblivious to school year schedules.
Ben's first day went off without a hitch.
Favorite part: "playing with new friend Joshua".
Least favorite part: Choosing play-doh during free play time and nobody else choosing play doh and ending up playing alone for a few minutes.
Cutest moment: A tie between getting dressed in adorable uniform and running toward school with friend Jake in oversized backpack
Biggest mishap: accidentally stealing chocolate milk at lunchtime. (in the excitement over actually being allowed to drink chocolate milk, Ben forgot about the 50 cents in his lunchbox)
Just two weeks ago we were thinking of moving out of the city. But life has a funny way of changing all of the sudden. Here we are starting BPS. I never really thought this day would come. But somehow, for now, it feels so right.
Thank goodness for good friends like Jake (and his mom Debbi!) who've been with us since the beginning.. literally!  |
